True Admin Role

A recent change has occurred where not even an Admin has access to manage all content unless they are added as a Collaborator. Admins cannot see any draft content unless a Collaborator OR manage any published content. We need to have at least one person at our company who manages the overall L&D initiatives to have a true admin role where we have all rights to all content of the platform. Entrusted with this permission does not mean that the true admin would go and publish on behalf of employees. It means we have access so we can troubleshoot when necessary which does happen from time to time. I recommend adding a "super" admin role OR restricting this role to only 1 or 2 users in an organization - but at least one person needs to have the keys to the castle. If things are broken, someone needs to go in and fix.

Another example that surfaced just this morning on this issue. An SME imported content via the browser extension and added our external client channels so now the content is shared with external parties, rather than internal. He doesn't know the difference. This individual is on a different time zone than most of the company and won't be able to log online for another 4 hours where then I need to walk him through the steps of adding me as a collaborator so I can adjust his settings. I'm simply grateful when our SME's take the initiative to share their knowledge. Training them on all the settings is not a good use of their time or ours, plus they have so much going on that trying to remember all the settings would just deter them from posting in the future. I'd rather just go in and correct it simply. There are standard things we train on, but particular instances like this that only a few individuals would know about would be quicker to adjust myself.

Still very keen for this - we have content we need to tweak/move, but can't, due to people being on maternity leave / long-term sick leave etc...!

Completely echo Tracey Johnson's point - we have many busy SMEs who create content that then needs adjusting but they're too busy to get around to making the corrections (or are on parental leave etc.!) - it would be fantastic to automatically add the L&D team account as a collaborator to every piece of content

I am really keen to see a super admin role, example just happened: Legal team member created mandatory training content (forgot to add collaborator) then went on leave for 1 month. There was an error in the assessment and everyone is failing the assessment, but admins cannot edit it.. A poor UX for everyday users for our first month up and running :(

This - when content is broken or incorrect or duplicated you're powerless to be able to do anything. And when the user is then out of the business on holiday, sick or family leave you have absolutely no control.

Hi Marie Payne
Would you mind giving us a bit more information on what you'd like a Super-Admin to be able to do as opposed to an Admin?

Alfie from HowNow: So things have changed a bit since I requested this. I think more so there needs to be a level in-between contributor and manager, where people can create content and view limited insights for just that piece of content (ie numbers of engagement, anonymised assessments etc.). They'd also be able to assign content to other groups beyond the ones they belong to.
Also make more of a difference between Managers and Admins, so Managers can't see the "recent activity" lists and are limited in their view of budget requests.
