You can now add Credly badges, certificates, and HowNow badges to any step in a Pathway, giving learners a clear reason to keep going and a satisfying “Yesss, I did it!” moment at just the right time 🏅.
Credly workspace connected? You’ll see your Credly badge library right there. If not, you’ll still be able to use standard Badges and Certificates as step-based rewards.
These updates also appear across dashboards, notifications, exports, and learner profiles — no extra steps needed.
It’s here! Line Managers can now take charge of their team’s learning, skills, and compliance, all from one powerful view in HowNow.
With this update, line managers can:
  • Get a real-time overview of their direct and indirect reports (one level down)
  • See and filter data across People, Learning, Skills, and Compliance
  • Drill down into each report’s progress, skills, and mandatory training
  • Assign learning and skills directly, without needing admin access
  • Export key data for reviews, check-ins or performance conversations
  • Send reminders to team members for overdue learning or skills needing review
This is a huge step forward in making manager-led development a reality 🙌
If you’re on a
PRO plan
, your managers will also get access to the
AI Analyst
, which allows them to ask natural language questions like:
“What are the top skills gaps in my team?”
“Who’s overdue on compliance?”
“What learning have I assigned that’s still incomplete?”

We’ve made two important behind-the-scenes improvements to the Skills Profile to help you get cleaner data and smarter recommendations:
  • Unrated skills
    now use
    No Rating
    instead of Level 0, accurately reflecting when no rating has been given; for example, when a skill is assigned to a user without a specific level. This fix is now reflected consistently across HowNow, including dashboards, exports, and custom reports.
  • Skill gap logic
    has been updated to exclude unrated skills from gap calculations and lists. Only real gaps - where a skill is rated below its target - will now drive learning suggestions.
These changes reduce confusion, enhance data integrity, and ensure your insights are more meaningful and reliable.
Time spent in Live Classes, Webinars, and Events can now be tracked
and is visible in your analytics dashboards! 🕒 📈
Until now, time spent attending these sessions via HowNow Virtual Classroom wasn’t recorded, leaving a gap in your learning data. With this update, we’ve filled that gap by pulling time spent data. This is done via API integrations, or using the scheduled session duration when that’s not available.
You’ll now see a new “Avg. Time Spent” column in the Content Subpages, and summary cards will reflect these sessions in your Average Time Spent too. This applies to past sessions as well, so you get a complete view of learning activity going forward 📊.
Your team can now log their external learning activities - be it courses, books, podcasts, or coaching - right into HowNow.

You can now see when users were
last active
on the platform - not just when they last logged in.
This updated column on the User Dashboard shows the most recent user activity (like clicking or navigating), giving you a clearer and more accurate picture of actual engagement across your team.
Plus, we’ve introduced a
Status column
to clearly show whether users are
Active, Invited, or Deactivated
. This makes it easier to manage user licences, track who’s onboarded, and take action accordingly.

You can filter and sort by activity date, making it easier to identify inactive users or track changes over time.

30 minutes
and extends across custom reports, group pages, job roles, and more, helping you manage licences and engagement with clarity.

Admin, Authors, and Collaborators can now mark content as completed as many times as needed ✅, even after the expiry date has passed.
This update gives you more control and ensures you stay on top of compliance by allowing:
  • Multiple completions for courses with renewal cycles, with each saved in past records.
  • Bulk updates, letting you to select multiple users, and choose a completion date, for efficient record-keeping of their statuses.
